You can now deposit sterling cheques using the HSBC Chanel Island & Isle of Man Business Banking app

What you’ll need:

  • The latest version of the HSBC UK Business Banking app downloaded from Google Play™ or the App Store™

  • Your HSBC UK Business Banking log on details

  • The cheque you wish to deposit

Three simple steps to get started:

  1. Log on to the app:
    Select “More” from the menu, then “Cheque deposit” and choose the account you wish to pay the cheque into.
  2. Fill in the details
    Enter the account number and amount then scan the front and back of the cheque.
  3. Review and confirm
    Check the details you’ve entered are correct and confirm to submit the cheque for processing.

Important Information for using mobile Cheque Deposit

You can deposit any number of cheques daily via the app up to a maximum of £2,500. Individually, none can exceed £500.

Once you’ve scanned and deposited a cheque, you can check the transaction by logging on to Business Internet Banking and going to New Activity History.

Cheques deposited before 10pm will be processed the next business day. Anything paid in after this time or during a non-business day will be processed on the 2nd business day thereafter” or “two business days later.

How much can I deposit each day?

You can deposit any number of cheques up to a maximum of £2,500. Individually, each cheque cannot exceed £500.

How many cheques can I deposit each day?

There's no daily limit on the number of cheques you can deposit, but they can't exceed £2,500 GBP in any day. 24 hour period.

Are there any limits on depositing cheques?

Cheques can only be deposited in GBP. You can’t deposit international or travellers cheques.

How long will it take for my cheque to clear?

Deposits made before 10pm will be processed the next working day. Cheques scanned and deposited after that time, or on a non-working day, will be processed in 2 working days.

How long should I keep my cheque for after I have deposited it?

Please retain the cheque until the funds have cleared in your account.

Will I be charged for this cheque deposit?

To help businesses that may have been affected by Coronavirus (COVID19), we have initially launched this cheque deposit service on our Business Banking app FREE of charge. All other cheque-related charges in your tariff will still apply.

You will be notified when we plan to start charging for this service and what the charges will be.

How will I find out if there are any problems with my deposit?

We will contact you if there are any issues with your deposit.

How can I confirm my cheque was deposited?

You can check the transaction by logging on to Business Internet Banking and going to New Activity History.
